If you are a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipient who does not file a tax return, and you have dependent children under the age of 17, you must take action by May 5, 2020 to ensure that you receive the additional $500 Economic Impact Payment per qualifying child. You must go to: https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/non-filers-enter-payment-info-here and provide information about your children by May 5, 2020 to prevent delay of your payments. If you do not notify the IRS about your qualifying children, you will have to file a tax return next year to receive your child payments.
