Veterans Disability Benefits
For those that protect our rights and keep us safe, the United States has a program to help Veterans who are injured during active military service when they come home.
Veterans are eligible for benefits from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), including medical treatment and disability compensation for service-related disabilities.
Some of the common conditions qualifying for veteran’s disability benefits include:
- Sexual Assault
- PTSD
- Agent Orange Exposure
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Panic Attack
- Mental Illness
- Psychological Disorder
- Physical Impairment
Applying for veteran’s disability and medical benefits can be a confusing and lengthy process, especially if you have been denied by your local veterans’ hospital or VA office. Fortunately, an appeal process has been established for those who have filed a claim with the Veterans Administration and received an unfavorable determination. But there are strict timelines, and you only have one year from the date the local VA office mails you an initial determination of your claim to file an appeal.
HH&K Attorneys are certified to represent injured veterans in front of the Veteran Administration and can give you the guidance you need to ask the right questions and navigate the Appeals process to obtain benefits.
